Free Tesco money off vouchers

Hi

When I entered Tesco @ Kingston Park, Newcastle I was handed an A5 leaflet with 2 tear off vouchers at the bottom. They looked like your usual get X off buying Y kind of thing.

At the check out I was handing over a load of tesco clubcard vouchers and the girl saw this leaflet in my hand and said you can use those too.

Now one was for clothes £3 off and the other was for bakery £1 off.

I said I hadn't bought either but she said they work anyway. So she took £4 off my bill for free, then I said well there were some in the bottom of the trolley when we came in, so we got them out and she took them off too.

So I got £12 off my bill for free.

I don't know if this is a limited offer at selected stores, the vouchers do say only valid at the Newcastle store, but I would guess they are doing this at loads of stores.

When we put our trolley away there were loads of these vouchers lying about in trollies and on the floor, so glad our girl told us otherwise we would of left them in our trolley too like all these other people.

Can I ask were they just for use today or do they have an expiry date on? Thanks

  • The leaflet said "This weeks money saving coupons" so I'm hoping they will keep on doing them too.

If you check the bottom of the coupon they are for use only at Kingston park Tesco. It's the 3rd week running they've had the leaflets. Last week it was £1.00 off a £3.00 spend on beer and wines. They change them on a Monday.
I've not seen them at any other Tesco

They did this for a bit when they opened a new tesco metro near me, think it was a 'getting you through the door' type of sweetner....never see them now though.

It's a bit of a strange one, I wonder if it's to do with this credit crunch palava. This Tescos was one of the first 24hr Extras and has been open for at least 5 years. I'm not one for trying to understnd why, I'll just take the coupons and spend them!!!
