Being paid twice!!

My employer has accidentally paid me twice!!
Am i under an obligation to tell them or do i wait for them to contact me?

Comments

  • I would tell them, because when they find out you will have to pay the money back regardless of whether you have it or not.

Depending on the size of the company they will find out sooner or later when the books don't balance.

If you do decide to keep quiet make sure you keep the money to one side, maybe in a high rate interest account ;)

I would suggest it is because they have a money related problem, do a search, find this site and hey presto!

I agree that the OP should inform their employer and give the money back immediately.

Their mistake, do what you wish. Just bear in mind that you probably will have to pay it back sooner or later.

If you like the company and want to go far then tell them and have a laugh about it. Otherwise, stick it in a high interest account.
