BR - Accessing my wages??

Hi,

Can anyone offer any advice and what I can do?

Me and OH got our Bankruptcy order on the 21st aug, are we offically BR now or after the interview? mine interview is via telephone on the 12th sept and the OH's is in person on the 16th sept:eek:

I started maternity leave at work 2 weeks ago and before i left i asked them to pay my part time wages into my mums bank account knowing my own account would be frozen, anyway its pay day today and my wages have been paid into my old bank account (i checked online), work have said they wont do anything until the money bounces back to them which it wont as i dont think the court have told them. it could be frozen anyday, cards have been cut and sent to the courts

what choices have i got? work basically said next months wage will go into my mums account but what about august money? they wont say why it wasnt paid into my mums account so are accepting no liability.

i go onto statutory maternity pay at the end of sept so will be on a low low wage - this was my last decent amount before baby comes

feel like anything is going against us at the mo, work dont know my situation but why should i have to explain it to them just to get my wages

sorry for ranting on i can just feel my blood pressure rising

any experience anyone of lost wages through to being BR

Thanks lilac

Can't you transfer the money out online to your mum's account?

Do you have a cheque left - make it out to your mum's account, or go to branch and withdraw all?

Probably not till after the interview on the phone but i am no expert, just trying to help. Hopefully someone else who knows for sure will pop in if we keep the thread going. Hope it works out for you OK. Been there.

Your best bet is probably to contact you ORs office ASAP and request that you be allowed to withdraw the funds since they are necessary for your living expenses.

If you have any trouble getting the bank to release the funds, the OR will normally phone/fax the bank instructing them to release the money.

  • thanks for that - will try bank first with id then contact the OR's office
