xmas plan for husband

I have decided this year to do something different and your hampers gave me the idea of doing a box up for him, based on the theme 100 things to do before you die, i have called his box 12 things to do this year, i figure 1 a month will keep him amused as he seems a little bored lately,
so i have printed up a list and put it in the box and will add things to help him on his way, anything that needs money can be paid for through the year thus spreading the cost of his present (in theory)so the list at the moment stands at
1. Write a short story - have put a notebook and pen set in the box
2. Get a tatoo or peircing - he can relive his youth and will pay for this when he has it done
3. Skinny dip in the sea - planning on putting a little towl or goggles in the box
4.Dye you hair a primary colour - will put a red and blue semi permant dye in, whichever he dont use i will - sod it
5.Go up in the bournemouth ballon - we can pay for that when we do it also, may put a leaflet in the box
6. go to a concert - i know he has missed that, will try to find a list of things coming up at our local venue
7. Do a leisure course or join a club - lots of free courses and plenty of clubs for little money
8.Do something for a cause you believe in or help someone down on their luck - cost nothing and will make him feel good
9Protest or complain about something you feel strongly about - thought i would put in writing set
10. write to an eastenders character - thought i would put stamps in as wriring set in there already
11. Send a message in a bottle - recycle an old beer or wine bottle and put it in there
12.Drink beer at the ocktober fest in munich - big one yeah but im determined we will have a holiday this year and my brother lives in germany who we havent seen for ages so my thought is kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak

so what do you think, good idea or have i gone totally bannana's

I think it is an EXCELLENT idea and won't cost too much right now which is brilliant if you know you will be able to save throughout the year for all of the lovely treats. Sounds like a wonderful year of special memories to come :)

I think it is a nice idea - I would put 12 voucher cards in though with each item in explaining the present or write it on a gift tag. Look for a nice poem to add to tag?

Perhaps you could try the journal jar mentioned in other posts?

    Brilliant idea, a very thoughtful gift:T :T

I went on the bournemouth balloon a few years back, I loved it, I shouted "Oh I can see Mcdonald's from here" DH's mate said
"you'll by seeing mine in a minute too"
When I looked DH and his mates were all hanging on for grim death and I was running round it trying to make it sway back and forth (but it wouldn't):p

I think you've gone totally bananas mumsrus  , no seriously, that is such a great idea for your OH's pressie :D. I'm sure he'll be thrilled and will be knocked off his feet as it is so original.

I usually end up getting my OH a book, some sort of computer/wii game and clothes but this year I'm doing different stuff - kiddies handprints on a canvas with poem, facts in a jar, going to try and make a desk calendar, got photo frame from grabitnow that you can record a message on - need to take a brilliant photo of the boys to stick in, going to give him a stocking for the first time ever (thanks Rusty, yep taken your advice)... Just hope he appreciates all my hard work ;)

have not known anyone who has been up in the bournemouth ballon yet but i think he will be going on his own as i would more than likely be shaking on the floor saying get me down, i dont do heights, but he loves it

This is totally brilliant - I, too, may pinch this idea - just need to think of a few more ideas as some of yours are too exciting for him at his time of life (a joke) but he would not like to go up in a balloon - right - any more ideas anyone? The gig idea is great, as is the beerfest and all the freebies/low cost ones. Maybe we could add new ideas to this thread. Just off for a think over lunch.

well here are some more idea's, who knows if he likes it this year it could become a regular thing
watch the sun rise and set
    sleep under the stars
    Dance in the rain
    have your portrait painted
    have a food fight
go to a big sporting event
go away for the night unplanned (get in the car and go, see where you end up)

any more suggestions be great, might even alter my final list yet
