Ipo

Hi,
I've been looking into this from all the posts on this forum. The CAB advised me to go BR from my current address. It is from here my expenses traveling to work are high but once moved and if they take the car my expenses will go down. Which figures do they take into account when working out the IPO?

I'd be tempted to see leave it as it is for now...once you've gone BR and move house inform the official receiver & you'll have to fill in an new I&E form for them to work "if" an IPO is suitable....and remember its based on "IF" you have a surplus of £99 a month left after all living expenses have been paid...besides if you travel expenses drop you could always add bits elsewhere..cars are difficult beasties at the best of times depending on if its on HP etc you have to tell the OR why you "need" to keep the car not neccesarily why you want to keep it if that makes sense

  • yes that makes sense. I'm sorry i'm not dealing with this at all well. I'm not even sure if I have got all the information I ought to have. CAB has done all my forms yes, but i have no idea what happens after i go to court for my br number. I'm seriously confused the more i read the more scared  i am becoming.
But thank you for your help. My car is a little banger worth £500.

No need for apologies....thats how we all learn (I did)
try not to be scared (its really not as bad as your imagining it can be...honest!)....once your forms are done you'll have to contact the court for an appt....once you get the appt take the forms and your fees and thats it really you might have to see a judge but in most cases you dont....once you leave court the official receiver contacts you & will probably ask for any information they need sending to them..dont worry if your missing anything the OR can & will get any bank statements etc etc they need.....

as I said you really need to write some things down as to why you NEED to keep the car & who knows you might be able to keep it...although nothing is guaranteed

Anything that you need just post away & we'll try to help best we can
