    Contact your local halifax or ring the mortgage centre for the halifax first
    and see what they can do for you !
    This may save you alot of money as you wont have to remortgage at all and
    just change onto a better product.
    Explain that you want an extra £10k and see what deals they have for existing customers.
    Consider a long term fix is finances are tight and good look.
    You dont need a broker and it may be fee free !
    If you went via the broker from( john martin ) you may well have a fee to pay
