Costco Card query

Apoligies if i'm not in the correct forum.

I was looking into getting a Costco Card. The 2 types of applicable membership are business and individual.

Banking/Finance
Civil Service
Education
Fire and Rescue
Insurance
Local Government
Medical
Police Force
Solicitor or Barrister

If someone works in airport security, for BAA, are they eligible for the card?

Unlikely as there is no security in the list.

They're quite strict. My OH is a Surveyor, but they wouldn't let him have the card until he's chartered.

Give them a ring - they're very nice and will advise you.
  • an anyone aadvise which is the better value - Makro or Costco?
  • I joined Costco and cant say im that impressed - if its very close it may be woirthwhile but if its a fair drive not so good.

SOme items worthwhile - drinks, tins etc but majority not much cheaper than you can get elsewhere
  • What about Union representatives, not members but someone who actually works for the Union (T&G). I wil lcall them eventually, thank you.

Also, what is this Makro, where can I read more about them?

Makro is the same as Costco just a different brand.

Just reading through their website, you can't apply for a card/account as an individual, only business, is that correct?

That is true, you have to be some sort of business to get a Makro card.

Costco often invite whole organisations to join, especially when they open a new store. Ask your HR dept if there is such an agreement between BAA and Costco.

  • Know it's old but I finally got round to resolving this. I am eligble in my role, just in case anyone stumbles upon this with the same query. Simply take the forms and necessary documentation to your nearest costco and you can sign up there and then. Documents would be ID and proof of address etc.. proof of your job etc..
