Life Begins in 112 days!

Yes, I'll be leaving my thirty somethings just before Christmas!!!!
Since my LBM in July 2008 I have spent quite a bit of time reading all the posts and have made some significant changes to the way I spend. I feel that I am really lucky in life - have a fabulous hubby and 2 gorgeous children but I have always been careless with money! I am now in the process of becoming more savvy with the pennies and would like to set myself a few goals to achieve before I hit the big 40 at the end of the year(!):
1) 112 days to go - will save £1 a day
2) Continue with the "Bronze" challenge
3) Take part in the NSD challenges from September til December
4) Pay £270 on Lloyds TSB cc
5) Settle £222.67 on a Bank of Scotland Account
6) Pay £500 towards Debenhams store card
7) Lose a stone in weight (reduce grocery and eating out/take away bills!) :rotfl:
Will post regularly to keep myself motivated and on track so I can have a great big celebration in December!!

Had a good day today. My last day on leave before I return to work on Monday after 6 months! Put aside today's £1 so I'm off to a good start.

Thanks for the support Amy!
Had a good day yesterday until I decided to clear the mountain of washing - my tumble dryer has now packed in and I had a quote of £70 to fix it - just wondering if I should bite the bullet and buy a new one as we've spent about £90 on repairing the thermostat over the last 12 months and now the belt has gone!
Never mind, still put aside a pound! I'm going to take lunches to work this week - I've never done this before instead spent £££s on buying baguettes and lattes from the shop next door to the office!
2 days down, 110 days to goal.......:j0 -

Tumble dryers work on the same principle as hoovers basically !!
buy a new belt and take off the back and replace - no way should it cost £70 it is pure labour - all you really need is the name and style of the tumble dryer and a screwdriver!

Hi
I haven't posted my progress on the challenges I set myself back in August, but I have been committed to being a DFW and achieved most of my goals:
1) Saved £112 which will be paid into one of my credit cards today
2) Managed to achieve lots of no spend days
3) Settled my Lloyds TSB credit card, Bank of Scotland account and my Debenhams card - woo hoo!
4) Did lose 12lbs but then put 7lbs back on during my 2 week holiday at the end of November!!
So I've hit the BIG 40 and am in a better place than I was 6 months ago. I'm really looking forward to 2009 - have signed up to a few challenges and will aim to post more regularly.
Party on!:j :j :j :j0 -
