Renewable energy, advice needed for a company scheme

Hi, a slightly different tack to the usual "should I go for renewable energy" thread. I work for a company that's trying to be more environmentally friendly with different schemes and incentives and I have an idea for them.
A lot of our customers are based in the countryside and are ideally placed for small scale hydro, wind and solar based systems. Now, I would like to convince my company to offer grants and/or cheap loans so that our customers can set up small scale energy generating systems which supply their own needs but can also be sold back to the grid. As well as providing the income for our customers it would be a diversification from their main business so spreading their risk. Our company would gain from the exposure of the scheme.
Now, my company has an infrastructure which would really support this but I need some good selling points if I'm to put it forward as an idea. So over to you. links to web sites, suggestions, tax breaks, case studies, anything which might provide an edge ..... it will be difficult to sell the scheme to the upper management but I'd like to give it a try.
tks
