Collection and Delivery Driver – Edinburgh LD

Contract Type: Temporary

Hours of work: 30 hours + up to 15 hours overtime, starting time 1300 to 1900

Salary and Benefits: earnings up to £17250 per annum pro rata, plus overtime if applicable



The job:

As a Collection and Delivery Driver you’ll be working from one of our depots, collecting and delivering parcels within the area. Your responsibilities will include:
driving a 3.5t van to deliver and collect approximately 100 parcels per day (after training) to customers at both residential and business addresses
planning a daily route to ensure all parcels are delivered/collected on time
scanning parcels on and off route to ensure tracking information is available to customers and colleagues
carrying out relevant safety checks on the vehicle
working as part of the wider Parcelforce Worldwide and depot team to improvement customer service

The job:

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday working between 23.00 - 07:00, with the possibility of over time. Night work.

The job

As an indoor sorter you’ll be based in one of our parcel depots, sorting and preparing parcels for delivery by our delivery drivers. This role is a vital part in the chain to ensure all our customers get their parcels on time. Your responsibilities will include:
loading and unloading trailers
moving lorries
sorting parcels from conveyor belts into cages
moving cages
scanning parcel barcodes
working as part of the wider Parcelforce Worldwide and depot team to improve customer service
maintaining safe lifting and handling of heavy parcels even during busy periods

The individual
Works accurately using post codes to sort parcels into cages
Is a team player, willing and flexible enough to help colleagues to ensure that all our customers get their parcels on time
Is able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
Occasionally, during busy periods may be required to help out the delivery drivers by undertaking driving duties, so must hold a full driving licence, with no more than 6 penalty points

unfortunatly the hours clash with overlaps on my own shifts or i would have been going for them myself
