there is also a thread on the comping section bit about the paintball vouchers, lots of us entered a competition for something and we all seemed to end up with paintball vouchers but some of us thought they were worthless but apparantly they are quite useful

hi blackpool mummy :hello:
if you decide to take it up, give them a call first to find exactly what the costs will be.
i phoned them myself today, because i was sceptical that this was free. i have to admit, when i put the phone down, i was more confused than before i'd picked it up! that's probably just me being thick though.
from what i could gather though, each person has to pay a £10 deposit upfront which i think is refunded and you're charged for the paintballs you use, i was told it's about £6.50 to £7.00 per 100. i suppose the voucher goes towards these.
they tried to impress me by saying it includes a free lunch, but i've read elsewhere that that is just a packed lunch, literally.
make sure you check if there are any other hidden extras you have to pay for too, like equipment.
it may well be a really good deal, i don't know how much this sort of thing normally costs, but the words that stick in my head when i asked if i could get to play for free, were, "well, not exactly free."
good luck :beer:0 -
thanks for that from what i read it was comp you had entered so will ave to see0

I used to work with one of these paintball companies, and I can tell you that these vouchers are pretty much worthless.
In most sites (I can't speak for all companies), the deposit is NOT refundable.
Normally, with entry you'll get a small amount of paintballs included as part of your package in addition to a free lunch (usually a burger/hotdog/sandwich)
If you hunt around and look for prices for a particular paintball site, you can normally find the cheapest entry costs at £5/£10 per player, or occassionally for free! That entry cost is your deposit as they do make their money off of paint sales, and the low or free entry cost prices is just to draw in the punters thinking that it could be a cheap day out.
Paintballs at all these sites are horrendously overpriced costing anywhere from £5-£12 per 100, with the average player using 200 or so paintballs in a 8-10 minute game.
Frankly, its a tad pointless to collect these vouchers, as you can easily get the same or better deals from just surfing a few websites. Although at least their being offered for free. Unlike those scammers in the street who sell these vouchers and arn't even employed by the companies their selling for!0
