What is the building in the background for both the Sky News and Bloomberg interviews with Fionnuala?
The Nationwide HQ? Or maybe some famous building I have no knowledge about? It looks like something Spanish.

"Let's not get too excited.... it's just a number"
I think they should be held responsible for mis-selling, in the same way as a share pump and dumper, or any other low life confidence trickster.0 -
These are my two favorites, both from a while ago:
Watch her squirm and stutter as the interview asks her if we are in a crash:

And here she finally admits the game is up:

Aww, poor Fionnuala. She got a bit of a roasting on Sky this morning:

The heart bleeds........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Me too! I'm getting fed up listening to Fionnuala spouting the same old 'claptrap' every month. What Nationwide need is a new face and outlook when delivering the bad news. That cheerful chap Howard from the Halifax should do the trick, as I belive he's been sacked and is loooking for a new job. Perhaps he could do a sing and dance to the latest figures each month?Or maybe even re-release and old favourite!

Your house went down by 1.9% last month, your house, has dropped by 10% last year. Your house, is in negative equity etc etc..........0 -
I swooned with shock when I read some of the unkind comments re ms earley placed here.
how could she - with a shedload of academic quals and plenty of market experience - predict a 10% drop?
the glass is always half-full with this girl, and I for one delight in the gentle lift she gives me every time she pops up to assure me that it's not as bad as it seems.
shame on you all.miladdo0 -

So that's the place where they lost my ISA transfer form
It's not surprising that they didn't know where to look. What do they do for a works outing? Book the QE2?
Great thread, ndg. I agree that Nationwide will need a new face on the block.
But I'd wait until March 2009 before moving Fiona sideways, otherwise the newcomer will also become "spoiled goods" as he identifies "green shoots", "burgeoning buyer interest" "signs of a more positive outlook" etc. etc :rotfl:0 -
Fionnuala should be a stand-up comedian, she's a right laugh.0
