Tesco clubcard question - card numbers don't match!

Hiya!
I recently applied for a clubcard, before when I tried to apply you had to be over 18 (i'm 17) so couldn't do it. But a few weeks ago I decided to have another go and couldn't see anything that said you had to be 18+ so I applied. When I went to check my points online it said my address could not be found and I needed to re register or something, so I did it again but changed my birth date to see if it made a difference to my application.
Anyway, they sent me my cards now but they don't match the number of my temporary clubcard, nor the clubcard statement that i've been sent! I can't collect points as I don't have a card for the number which is really active to me.
I would call them, but I don't want to get in trouble for playing about with my birthdate (even though they've sent me the statement for the one I told the truth on).
Any advice on what to do? Sorry for the confusing post!

  • just give them a ring to merge the numbers together onto one account. if you'd rather not (they don't check DOB over the phone i don't think, just address) then just start using the card they have sent you, and when you've received the statement for the other, throw it away and just use the one.

I don't know why you have to be 18, that seems really silly.

I know, I didn't get why they wouldn't let me have it before, I passed my driving test and always bought petrol at Tesco's as well as doing lots of shopping in there.
The problem with using the card they have sent me is when I log in to check the points it tells me that nothing can be found. However when I use the numbers off my statement I have 300 points and everything matches up!
I will give them a ring, hope they don't have a go!

why not use the new clubcard, get the vouchers for the old one in the next mailing (late november-early december) and carry on from there? You will get two sets of money off/points vouchers with two mailings which you can use against the new card, if you do it in separate shops.
