Can anyone advise the best (free) way to play DVD's on laptop??
Tried Windows Media Player and it says i need codecs - tried to download this and now it says
Windows Media Player is currently unable to play DVD video. Try decreasing the number of colors displayed on your monitor or decreasing the screen resolution.
How do i do this?? Running Windows XP

The Kazaa-Lite codec pack or the DIVX codec pack will do you fine. These are .exe files, which you can just install, so nice and easy.
As for an application to play the DVD, I use BSPlayer. Nice and light, so you shouldnt get any slow points in the DVD (like Windows Media Player, which is quite an intensive application, so causes slow downs at points, and the picture has to be sped through to get back to where the sound is).
Hope this helps.
P.S. BSPlayer is made by Webteh, just in case you can't find it. Sorry for not providing links, but I'm at work.0 -
