Hi
I am on secondment to the UK for less that 24 months. I am looking to buy a car/motorcycle here and I was wondering if there was any way to claim a tax relief for any of the vehicle costs associated with travelling to and from my temporary home and my temporary place of work i.e. interest, depreciation, fuel, maintenance etc. I know that I can claim train travel or a hire car, however i would like to know if there is any way to buy/lease/hire purchase a vehicle in order to receive this tax relief.
Thanks very much
Justin

No, however your employer can pay you an allowance for these expenses which, depending on your particular circumstances, may be tax free.0
