How long to banks freeze your accounts?

I went BR on the 13th Aug (OR interview tomorrow
). I had a quick call with the OR assistant the same day but that has been it so far.
Neither Nationwide (Basic account) or Citibank have stopped my account. I forgot to cancel one of my DD and they took it out of Citibank, who let it go through and now I am in an unauthorised overdraft, and not sure what to do.
How long did it take for other peoples accounts to be stopped?

I went bc nov had a joint saver acc with OH that i never bothered to get my name removed from. anything like mine? I had a barclays current account took over 6mnths to close eventually....didnt stop them adding payments for bounced DD's overdraft etc....the OR chased them daily about it & eventually they got the messageWe all die.
