Storage Ideas For Crafters?

Options
Hi Everyone

After spending an absolute fortune this past few weeks, I'm going to seriously have to find somewhere to store everything in.

Can I ask what everyone else does? At the moment, I use the dining room table when I'm working, then have to clear it all away, so what do you use to keep everything neat and tidy??

I'm the same at the moment, I started with a box to put odds and ends in and now I have a 3 tier plastic drawer set, 2 plastic storage boxes, 2 sectioned plastic storage boxes, a set of wooden drawers someone gave me and a set of wooden drawers I just bought from Ikea and am in the middle of decorating... What I really need is a craft room ;)

I bought loads of those plastic food containers, sort of like the ones you get the boxes of sweets in on markets, or take away meals from supermarkets. I was buying them at Poundland, getting 12 for a £ or something like that. They have all my beads in and are on a bookshelf.

My seed beads are in the same kind of containers, and some of the baby food containers from poundland, and are all kept in a large 3 drawer thingy.

My findings are in a set of boxes that I got from B&Q, it has a solid case, and contains 4 rather large trays with comparments in.

My tools (pliers, wire snips etc) are all kept in a wire utensil holder.

I bought an Ikea Expedit storage unit for my crafting items. I have to use a wall in the bedroom as my crafting area lol.

Edit to say: Took the pics really quick and its all an absolute MESS lol. Sorry.. Im sure you can organise yours a little better :D

I also bought some card magazine holders, cut the front off then sellotaped two together to make 12x12 holder. I am a scrapbooker so not sure if you have this size of things!

I bought lots of boxes from ikea, and wicker baskets from home bargains (nice and cheap) to put all of my things seperate so I can find them easily. Ie. Stamps and inks.. chipboard.. tools etc

I have folders of plastic wallets. One has rub-ons, one has stickers and another has clear stamps put onto sheets of acetate and slid into the plastic wallets. I find this the best so I can see what I need at a glance. My main tools like glue scissors etc are kept in a little caddy like.. a knife and fork holder/tool holder. I can just get this straight out and use it when I want to craft and everything is to hand.

My ribbons I have put on kitchen roll holders from Ikea. Any loose ribbons are in the left basket and any flowers are in the basket on the right.

Hope this helps you. Any questions or anything give me a yell i'm always happy to help :j

Right now I store all my crafty bits in a plastic box and also some of the overflow into a wicker chest that sits on the living room.
Although for my birthday my other half is getting me this:

    http://homeshopping.24studio.co.uk/gifts-crafts/crafts/craft-tools/3

Its on the far right and is black and green (which happen to be my favourite colours)

Hopefully it will store most of the stuff I seem to accumulate.
