know what you mean - I could rip my head off when I get a migrane, but have you tried Nurofen migraine pain tablets ( I could never take tablets on empty stomach, doesnt help when you wake up with start of a migraine, but these really work for me ) if still not gone after 15minutes I also use those Cool it cold gel packs on forehead (buy the kids ones they are cheaper )
So far - touch wood - theyve got rid of my migraines no problems
    Hope this is of help
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T
  • Thank you Weaver - I will try them and buy some today ready for the next time

  • Best tablets I have found for migraine - in fact the ONLY ones which work for me, and I have tried LOTS of proprietry brands including Migreleve and Immigran (!) are Propain. Can be bought (from pharmacists only) over the counter. Expensive (around £5 for 32 tabs) but well worth it!

I get a 'wafer' on prescription - rizatriptain (sp?) or maxalt melt - you slip it under the gums when you feel a migraine coming on, and it 'does' something to stop or minimise it, and also stops the nausea if taken soon enough. Seems to work. May be worth asking doc for it if anyone is getting migraines regularly.

I didn't get the gel either, don't even recall getting a leaflet.
