When I applied for a cashminder account over the phone my application got refered to the banks underwriters. I should imagine that the reason this happened to me is because I have only lived in my current address for 14 months and I am not registered to vote (now sent off registration form). I was given a reference number and asked to call back in 3 days.
My account has been opened and I have now recieved my welcome pack, Visa Electron Card and a paying in book. I have even set up online banking. I am still waiting for my pin number though. (got bank card a week ago).0 -
Yes i seem to remember a few where this has happened and it is usually to do with the address and being registered there ect. I think that the reason they do this is to check for fruad. I had to give them my previous address, I had been at my previous address for 11 years and I am sure that I was on the electoral role at my previous address.
Got my pin number through the post a little while ago :j :j :j .
Did you get given a reference number and were you asked to call back in 3-4 days?0 -
Hi. Went BK on Tuesday. Prior to this we opened a cashminder account.
Had initial phone call from the ORs sidekick yesterday-very pleasant-hope the OR will be next Thursday! Anyway I told her that we had opened this account, and it's fine. She wanted a rough estimate as to how much money will go in per month, but did advise me that although it as an account for bankrupts it's still ultimately upto the bank in question whether they will take you or not. Sooo-after i'd spoken i rang the Co-op, eventually spoke to a human, told her that we had been made bankrupt on Tuesday-and she said that's fine. We can keep the account-her words"perfect for bankrupts as there is no borrowing facilities on ths particular account".
Our application initially was referred too. Rang a few days later and told we were accepted.
All the best
