I just got a slip for an unpaid postage fee of £1.30 (£1 handling charge inc) I did quite a few from this board few days ago
Do any samples/free things here do this?
Thanks

I got that the other day, ended up it was an EA just sending me some property details and hadn't put a stamp on it, the annoying thing was this EA knew I had already found somewhere! it will only be a letter, postage plus £1 handling fee.

Most of the freebies I get are either franked or licenced post so I dont think they would put the wrong amount on them.0

Hi John,
Can't answer your question directly I'm afraid, but usually if you go to your collection office (or wherever they indicate that you should go to collect said item!) They will usually allow you to see the envelope/package. Not to touch or open it, just view it - this may give you some idea of who sent it and if you want it.
This happend to me with medical test results from my doctors. They let me see the envelope through the glass. Needless to say I paid up, luckily results were clear!!! I knew the NHS are always looking for ways to cut back, but that takes it a bit far!!!!!!
Hope that helps ( a bit)0 -
Quite a lot of us on this forum had that from the Artficial Grass Sample posting - if you remember sending off for that I would guess it is from them. However, if it is them, there is no sample and people ended up trolling down to the Sorting Office and paying postage for their price list!!!!!!!
You can ring the Sorting Office and ask them if there is any indication of who the sender is on the package which may help you decide whether it is worth collecting/paying postage for!0 -
I've had a few of these and have always just ignored them and there has been no comeback. Don't see why I should pay postage for something I haven't asked for (and even if you did just tell them you didn't)0

Can you really ring your Sorting Office, you certainly cannot where I live, their number has been erased from everything!Filiss0

be careful top check- I didnt know you could do this- had a readers digest spam envelope sent to me and requested money to pick it up.
No winnings, yet another book I didn't ask for on something that does not interest meand another invite to join thier mailing list for "new prizes". I was really hacked off at this, I dont earn enough to waste money like this- I thought it was something from ebay!
Have since gotten my own back on Readers Digest, I am too inpatient to let karma take its course!
Next time I will know to check to see the envelope before paying for it!0 -
If it is something from a company that is useless, just get a big box and stuff it with somethign that is heavy and send it with the postage wrong. They won't like being charged £5+ for an empty box, inside have the letter and the postage fee with a very nice "Thought I'd return this, plus a little extra".
See how they like it!

your local sorting office should have their number on the docket they sent you,0
