Cheaper birthday cards?

I have a busy couple of months for birthdays and remeber a big trip to the card shop costing over £20 last year - I can't do it this year!

Does anyone know where I can buy nice cards cheap?

And before anyone suggests making them, my sister is the arty one in the family and I can't compete with her home made cards!!

im sure it was card warehouse or something similar i went to in Liverpool (bold street if ur in the area) and i got 5 cards for £1!!!! all very pretty (although more suited to females than males tbh) and they had a little decoupage on every one too so they did look like they cost more than 20p a card!!!

Tesco do a number at 29p. The quality seems ok. I always have a few in case I forget or my eldest gets an unexpected invite to a party! I have seen some ok cards in Lidl too!

pay your sister to make you some. I'm sure she'd like the money to helpher buy more card making stash .

I picked up some in Poundland recently at 3 for £1, and they were pretty good - thick card, good quality pictures (nice bright colours, including gold/silver writing/accents - sounds horrid but they look really nice! ), and plenty suitable for both male and female.

Also have picked some up in Wilkinsons at 49p each, but to be honest, I think the Poundland ones look better!

Do you have a Clinton Cards near you? At my local ones they are selling off boxes of cards, 20 for £7.99, they are lovely cards and have a few birthday, thank you, get well soon and wedding ones.

I just got some fantastic ones from Home Bargains in Preston today. They're 29p like the usual cards, but much much nicer.

They're Hopscotch cards, usually retail in Clintons etc for nearer to £2.

Loads of variety Birthday, get well soon, new home ,baby girl etc

Don't think they will be around for long, so quick grabbit while you can!!!:money:

We have a card factory in town and the most expensive cards are 99p for a large one and 29p is the cheapest. You can normally get 10 for £1 that covers thank you cards, birthdays blah blah from a certain range Have you got one of these shops anywhere?

What about the works? They normally have cheap cards too.

I would look out at any local fairs you go to as i have seen loads of packs being sold for a few pence in the past.

just thought, i have seen in woolworths a selection of cards for 29p too.
The post office have cards for 99p as i have got a few there in the past.

The big card shops are just way to expensive especially when you have kids as it is always someones birthday!

Thanks everyone! Instead of stopping at the usual nearest card shop today I walked a bit further and found a Cardfair shop - got 7 cards for £1.88! They had 5 for £1 and some 29p and 49p ones.

They also had 10 for £1 - they were a bit girly for the ones I needed but might get some for the next load of girly birthdays!

The cheap ones are really quite nice - the 29p was a wedding one and 49p for a 60th birthday!

The message on their carrier bag says "If its the thought that counts why do the others charge so much":D
