Walking Possession

Having read some of the bailiff horror stories on here, I'm starting to worry.
A few months back I had a bailiff come round to discuss my council tax arrears that I'd acquired while I'd been out of work (first mistake). He asked me to sign some papers to say that we'd agreed a repayment plan, which I did (second mistake), At the time I failed to realise that it was a Walking Possession notice. At no point did he say what it was or what it would allow them to do in the future.
The repayment plan is OK, but with spiralling living costs, I'm worried that if I miss a payment, they now can just "break in " and take our stuff.
Is there anything we can do about it?
