    I wouldn't trust a car dealer as far as I could throw them!

    The governed by the FSA thing is to do with regulation on payment protection and I wouldn't really take any notice of it.

    He is probably trying to hit a target for both himself and a volume bonus which will be paid to the dealership if they fund £x thousands or even millions during a set period. At the end of the day he is only looking out for himself and is probably not interested in helping you save some money.
