company fuel card tax

in Cutting tax
Hi all, first thread so here goes. I have got a company fuel card which i use in my own vehicle to which they pay me 20 pence per mile for wear and tare. The fuel card i can use for buisness and private miles, each month i have to forward a form to tell how much i have used on my card which the company pay for. On my wage slip the full amount of fuel i have purchased that month goes on my payments column and comes off in full in the deductaions column which makes me pay tax on this amount of fuel ontop of my salary, as i travel all over the region and i am dictated on where to go means that i have no control over how much fuel i use so each month i could pay a lot in tax. I had a little argument with my line manager which inturn said he loved to receive 20 pence per mile to drive his own car and i replied by saying the tax i pay each month swallows up any or nearly all the 20p per mile i receive so i llose out until the following tax year when i have to fill in a form to have my tax code adjusted for the coming year so my question is can i receive the monies owed via a cheque from the tax man or is it always done by adjusting my tax code and secondly is there any way i can get out of paying tax on my wage for my fuel card. i.e pay for my own private miles as i am sick to death of paying £120 tax and ni each month out of my wage. Thanks for any reply.

So they add the whole of the bill to your salary, or just the private useage?[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
