some advice please:
Since my wife gave up work for childcare, we have been slowly running into trouble. My basic salary is less than our expenditure despite all the mse advice we can take. I do get by though on plenty of overtime - but only just.
I am deep into in a £1000 overdraft every month. I have credit cards Im trying to clear but I can't afford any more than the min repayments (and with xmas fast approaching im not sure how much longer i can even afford those!).
I haven't plunged off the edge of the cliff yet, but i have that "hanging on to the edge by my fngernails" feeling.
I have a loan with northern rock and they approved an application for a largher, consolidation loan. But the monthly repayments will not come to much less than my current loan repayments plus min repayments on credit cards!
I am lucky to have n rock approve me, because i know my credit score isnt too good. I have 14 days to agree to the loan, but i cant decide:
1. Should i just stick to hacking inot the credit card debt?
2. Should i go for the loan and scrap the cards?
3. Is it time to throwin the towel and turn to a dmp?
any advice would be very welcome!

Thanked 2 Times in 2 Posts New England Where to go in a whirlwind tour?
We are travelling to my favourite city the world - New York - next month, but decided to hire a car and venture up to Boston for a night or two. After that, we have 4 nights unplanned, with a car, and dont know what we can do with our time. We thought of staying in some cheapish Motels and touring around (cape cod? vermont?) to discover a small slice of classic New England (leaves, wood cladding, village greens, etc).
I would really appreciate any suggestions on a reasonable itinery, with a view to getting back to Boston for a return flight?

We've just ordered our new kitchen - In the end went for Curry's, a surprising choice, offering us Hygena kitchen at a better price than comparable units from either Homebase or B&Q.
But our real bargains came from Ebay - we purcheased our applicances from an "ebay shop" - an indesit oven, hob and extractor, which B&Q do as a package for about £900 cost us just £392 - these were "graded goods", meaning new, but with damaged packaging.
We found that Ebay can also be a good source for door handles, sinks/taps and other accessories.
