Does anyone know what the HSBC's criteria is for defaults??
Basically i am a first time buyer wanting a 90% mortage on a £60000 property (50% ownership on shared ownership) so £54000 lending.
I have 2 defaults one in jul 04 for c. £100 and one in jan 07 for c. £600. halifax have declined me altho it was a pass "c".
i spoke to britannis b/s today to see if they could help and the guy i spoke to recomended trying hsbc! now i know every lender has different criteria as to if they will lend you. e.g if your default is more than 3 yrs old they will consider you and if not then they won't etc etc
does anyone know what hsbc's criteria is. and also if you know of any lenders that would consider me...aprt from the likes of cheshire mortgages who's rates are ridiculous!
any help GREATLY appreciated as this is a very stressful time!ha
many thanks

Because HSBC don't deal with intermedaries.
To the OP - HSBC are pretty strict, it would probably be a decline. If you ring them up and ask to do a mortgage approval in principle (soft credit search) you'll be able to find out within 10 minutes or so.0
