I'm not entirely sure, but could the insurance not be put in a parents name? At least til your 18th birthday? With you as a named person on there? Like if they were claiming Car insurance and wanted to put you down as a named driver.Make £2012 in 2012 Member 2290

Hi,
I work for Platinum Petcare and can vouch for them:
https://www.platinumpetcare.co.uk
Easier and less risky way of doing not just dog walking, but pet visiting, house sitting and dog boarding. If you are happy to board dogs in your home over night whilst client is on holiday you can make more money, plus its easy work and the company need more dog boarders than anything else.
I recently boarded a gorgeous Dalmation for 6 nights, it was so much fun, and I really grew attached to her, sad when she left, but she will now be a regular of mine.
Good luck,

Thanks for the link Kat, I'd love to do something like that but I dont know how it would fit around my current job, which is why i thought of starting a dog walking thing so I can fit it in around my job better. I couldn't board the dogs in my house because We already have a fair few, from taking in puppies ect, so I dont think it would fair too well with my dad.
upsykimsy - The £2 a week cover (that's after I broke it down) would be for insurance in my mums name, then me down as a partner. I think we'd work it where she'd pay then I'd add an extra £5 to my board until I paid it off. *fingers crossed*
chilli_dog - Never thought of advertising on my vespa, it would have to be on the front (too scared to let myself drive a car!) even though I suggested that idea to someone the other dayI live on quite a posh road, part of 3 70s houses that seem to be abit of a spot on the victorian houses. The people living next door have a dog but are always out at work, so I think there is a potential customer there.
Planning on getting afew more quotes over the next few days, then starting on flyers. I can put one up in my local pet shop for 50p per week, also take some to the vets, and post to houses on my street. If all goes to plan.
**EDIT**
Trying to think of a name! I thought of Pooches on Parade but I've googled it and there is a business in America called that. So I'm guessing I can't use that?0 -
Good luck with your own venture, I hope it works.
The platinum petcare can fit around your current work but if you work 9-5 probably won't work as most dogs are walked during lunch hours. If you took up a post with them it is completely casual, you only take the work you want to take.
Anyway good luck again!
