Hi All,
About 4 weeks ago I posted on here about my SOA and I got some fab advice. I thought it was time I followed up on what I had done....something of a success even if it is only early days.
following the SOA post, which was spawned by a change over of bank accounts and the bank stopping every single bill without actually telling me until over a week later! I went and checked all of my bills, got my filing out and made sure all of payments were re-set, up to date and sorted.
I then re-did my budget...with a little help from the budgeting tool on here. It's excellent. It turns out I am still coming out £100 a month over with everything cut down to a minimum but I then worked out how mcuh extra cash I could make through extra cash methods....EBAY, Car Boot Sales, Adhoc tour guiding work, Birthday gifts etc and my feet are well and truly back on the ground.
I am still having a problem with BT.....after my bank cancelled every single one of my DDs BT refuse to re-instate it as I apparently cancelled it and I owe them a bit as the account was in the red due to paying too much. It's about half what it had been a year ago but still it's not do-able. I spent a couple of phone calls and I got a respite so I could then take it up through a complaints procedure so we will see what happens.
I have sorted out all of the docs to re-claim the bank charges and have put them in at the same time as a long letter relating all of the events. I'm hoping for a nice apology...which is probably wishful thinking!!
I guess I cannot say thank you enough for the help and support you guys gave me (even though on the vent board where I wrote about the worlds local bank I appeared to be told I'm stupid! But I'm led to believe that's normal). I will endeavour to help anyone else who asks for help in the same way and hopefully more people will be in control of the finances that rule this planet!
Don't worry though, I'm trying not to be complacent. I know that I'm in a precarious situation, and one large bill and i'm scuppered! But for now, I'm actually feeling like money isn't the be-all and end-all (even booked a holiday-
£42 for a week in Cornwall in November for 2----so time to save and put food away!!)
Thanks again:j :T :rotfl: :T :j
