Credit file cleanup...

Hi there,
Hoping someone can guide me a bit. I'm 2 days away from AD and have started reading about the CRF cleanup. Can I order these files now or do I need to wait until the AD has happened? I keep reading the guidance but I am struggling to take everything in at the moment.
Basically if I can get started today I will, anything to get this whole time in my life over with asap!

Me too Smiales - only mine is in 5 days (hmm, do they update the website on a Sunday?) - but seeing as we have no money until payday on Sunday anyway I can't get started until then (rats...).
Just wanted to bump you and sure someone clever will have an answer soon

Better to wait until you are discharged I think.
Former debts should be marked settled as of your discharge date, so although it's unlikely that the creditors will have bothered with that yet (if ever ) it's not something you can check for sure until your AD/ED has happened.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks, I'll wait a bit longer then. I've waited nearly a year I'm sure another few days won't hurt!0

I have to say this year has probably been one of the longest of my life, and pretty miserable - not just because of BR, but the being skint, threat of homelessness every other month (not due to BR) a really really pants job and generally both me and OH being totally miserable and probably clinically depressed for most of it has made it a real evil one.
But onwards and upwards and I have a little plan that involves taking £50 out of my wages each month and stashing it away so that in 2 years time I can escape if need be and just go travelling....hurrah! And even if I don't, we've got a stash in case we do get chucked out of here by the council or something
Happy days are here again (in 3 days now, I got the date wrong.....) Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
I know what you mean....mine felt like the longest EVER as well and to be honest its not been the great cure all everyone thinks it is i'm still struggling by still just about managing to keep my head above the water buy hey ho least i've no debt!
Hmm apologies for anyone reading that it didnt quite come across as I wanted it to
Really pleased pix to hear of your plans though you both deserve a break after what you've been through for sure...just remember send me a postcard!!We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Oh, no, wasn't at all thinking you were inferring anything Phil, no worries there - just didn't want anyone to think that going BR has been a bed of roses or has made this year easier at all - it's been really really horrid and whilst yes I am now officially debt free, I still would advise anyone who mentioned to me they were thinking of doing it as well to think long and hard - and that's without even thinking about the future mortgage/insurance nightmares I may have lol...
Onwards and upwards, eh?
