  • is it wrong that i actually feel angry on behalf of the catalogues? People order stuff then refuse to pay because they are in financial difficulty and use a technicality to keep the stuff they ordered free of charge?! I will no doubt get flamed for this opinion, but i just think its darn right wrong. Sorry

Depends on circimstances for me LilMiss.
If you owe the money, you should pay it back.
If you have an unenforcable debt, pay it back, but not at the risk of losing your house.

Everyone will have their own views on this. Some will not pay back banks because the banks are refusing to fund unlawful bank charges. Each to their own.
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

course you not get "flamed" for your comment lol each to their own

The problem i have is that this debt is 4 years old, i completely forgot about it and we have since moved the debt was then passed to a DCA who NEVER contacted me (we did leave forwarding address and the telephone numbers have NEVER changed so its not like ive been hiding), the DCA then filed a default then when i called them they were extremely rude and have added on late payment fees.

Will send them that next letter - thanks george

please dont tar everyone with the same brush, yes i had things out of catalogue, yes i ALWAYS made my payments, this was up until i became very ill and severely disabled, i didnt know i was going to become ill, my circumstances changed over night, i then rang catalogue expalined my situation, there is no cure for my disability and i am bedridden, and i offered a reduced payment, they refused point blank, bullied me over the phone, and were very abusive, all to a customer that for over six years had never missed a payment or ever been late with payments, no one knows anyones situation, we all have our own different problems.
