Thanks Bluefleur had not even thought of that, definitely do not need that added to my debt!! I think if the worst comes to the worst with my sister bankruptcy may be the best option as she already has a very poor credit record(ccjs, debt collection agencies etc). I was hoping to try and find some way to not go down that route as she has so little left in her life now that I worry this would push her over the edge.

I'm glad you didn't take it the wrong way- I didn't want to sound insensitive to her problems :o Maybe talk to CAB/solicitor. As it was a married couple that I know of, I'm sure they were already listed on each others debts.

If she is prone to having money issues, it may help her recovery if she doesn't have to think about it for the time being. Either way, I'm sure she'll be glad that her family are there for her and are being understanding at a difficult time.

Bluefleur- any advice or support is welcome and definitely not been taken the wrong way, this whole thing seems to be such a minefield when dealing with these banks, my new worry I thought of today is if I start causing trouble with Lloyds over my sister's debt will they start back at me over my debt with them(~£11K)? Just the fact that I can share my concerns with people who don't judge me or my sister for the state our finances are in makes such a difference!! This is my first time on any forum and feels a bit weird to open up about something so personal but like I said very good to share it!!
Leo1976- Thanks for your support, starting to feel that there are people out there already!!!!
