Working through the process of getting the money to go bankrupt after great advice from you guys
But here's another quick question, when we have our new co-op cashminder account as recommended can we still have dd's to pay for our ongoing internet and mobile phone contracts? We live somewhere quite rural, so as a mum of a baby of 5 weeks they are essential for my sanity. Thanks for any advice

Hi,
Internet is not normally allowed as essential expenditure, but you may be able to prove your need for it.
Mobile's are generally ok up to a reasonable cost. You can have both ( if your phone co agree ) it just might have to come out of your surplus if you get an IPA.
You can have a DD for anything you want - its your account !

I think it depends on your OR to be honest. My OR didn't disallow anything on my SOA and just said that he would send a report to Orange even though I didnt owe them anything. Orange haven't contacted me to say that they are terminating my contract so I have left it.
I would have thought if the OR did disallow the mobile phone contract and the internet, if you have a surplus after all outgoings then you would be able to pay for them out of that. (if it's sufficient)
Don't know if this helps at all,

Thank you for your advice. When I rang the national debtline they had no problems with either cost, especially as I'm self-employed and will be resuming work in January. I'm trying to get a clear picture of all the consequences of bankruptcy and how it will affect my day to day life, hence all the questions
thanks again 0
