Can anyone advise me re Rule 6.66

Hello to all on the board. I first came to the board for advice earlier in 2008 after becoming bankrupt ( not self imposed). Much appreciated support helped me to settle into the bankrupcy mode and deal with the stress etc. A big thankyou to everyone who answered to my posts at the time.

After not hearing or being contacted by the OR since my initial interview I have been able to carry on without too much worry hanging over me. Truth is, I have just got on with everyday life and in a way put it to the back of my mind in most part.(only way I could deal with this and to stop me crying etc)
The situation has changed this week and I have received a letter from the OR under Rule 6.66 whereby he is requesting further info re- the disposal of cash and transfer details from my old bank account. The period relates to a 2 year period between 2006 and 2008. I have been asked to submit in writing the details of these transactions by Sept 8th
I am truly past myself with worry as I don't know how to tackle this (No receipts etc)
Further can anyone tell me the implications of this and how will it effect the future, ie; automatic discharge etc and finally does everyone get these letters.

Thankyou in anticipation of your help

    Hi worriedmum :)

I'm afraid I don't know anything about this rule. Is the OR asking for explinations of particular transactions? And you can't remember? The best advice I can give you is to just be honest and you can't go far wrong with that. If you don't remember, then say so. If you do remember, but can't provide proof (ie receipts) then again, just say so.

    Best of luck :)
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

Rule 6.66 is a very mundane statement of the bankrupt's duty to provide information in addition to your statement of affairs if the OR requires it.

    Insolvency Rules 1986

It sounds scary, but in itself is fairly ordinary.

As Scarlett says, just be as honest as you can.

IS he asking for specific transactions during that time? Can you remember what they were for?

    :j :j

  • Thankyou so much for the replies. I can't believe you are all still here Fermi, Scarlett etc.
In relation to 'Fiveyearplan's' question. The letter requests
    1. The disopsal of the sum of £7,183 by way of cash withdrawals between June 2006 and Feb 2008
    2. The dosposal of the sum of £15,098 by way of transfer transactions between June 2006 and Feb 2008
So in answer to your question. He is not asking for a specific transaction.
I did receive a wadge of bank statements covering that period.

    Thankyou everyone

  • were trustees appointed?

i feel in cases of forced BR they do like to dig deep, whereas in "own" petitions its all rather superficial, when did you go BR, who were the instigators of the action, the tax/vatman?
  • I know you may think I am mad but I really don't kmow if trustees have been appointed.
I was made bankrupt by a Local Authority that I used to work for. The loan was for a car that was bought for the purpose of my then post. You know re-payments taken from my salary each month etc. By the time I was made bankrupt I had also accumulated other debts.

I have only ever had one official intervew with OR and this letter is the first correspondence I have had and it is signed from an OR albeit not the same OR as initial one.

Funny thing is that I was officially made bankrupt on October 07 but did not get interview until January 08. So this is the first correspondence since January this year. Further I noticed that my credit file has 4 Bankrupt listings 2 in October 07 with different spellings of my first name and 2 have been added for January 08 the January date is showing as the date I actually went for OR interview.
    Hope I am making sense
  • well in a few weeks you will be discharged, the OR/trustees may be trying to wrap up the paperwork
  • I would love to think that this is the case, but I have just received another bankruptcy notice as I said so what is going on
