Personal Cd Player, Boots?

My eight year old would like a personal cd player for xmas. I'd like to get her a nice but cheap one!!
Boots have a few (I'm thinking of the points) and I just wondered it anyone could make any suggestions about the best type to buy.

I have just bought my son an MP3 player, he is soooo into his music but only 6. At £20 delivered, it was cheaper than a CD player and much more 2005!

I think she wants it to listen to audio books. Can you do this on MP3 (I am not at all clued up!)0
