BR Update

Hi all, Just thought I would update you all on my BR.

After OR interview I felt a little down, not sure why just the stress of it all I think, since then I have had a letter from OR asking for some info on my time with CCCS and the forms to sign for IPO. My landlord has had a letter regarding my rent etc (all standered stuff I think) The bank never froze my account and I can keep my car for work.

Things seem to be going well so I just wanted to say again........ thanks to everyone on here for help, advice and support xxx

Who is your bank account with? They may freeze it at a later date, if it was me I'd be making alternative arrangements - unless of course you have a basic account with either Barclays or Co-op.

    Glad everything is going well.

    Hi Purple Pin Head,

Thanks for your post. We are planning to go BR on the 8/9/08, we tried to do it last month but we needed to live in our current district for more than 3 months and one day so we've had to wait another month which has been awful.

I just wanted to ask, I didn't think that your landlord gets contacted???? do you know if that is standard practice? I'm really worried now about being booted out.... when our contract comes to a close.

    Thanks Lisa
  • The acc is with Abbey and it is a basic one, will just have to see what they do

ORs are supposed to contact the landlord but many don't. The important thing is to pay your rent on time so your landlord will want to renew your contract if indeed he does find out.

  • Hi Hally01,
I think they do write to your landlord but someone with mor experience will tell you.

If it was me I wouldn't feel comfortable with the wait and see in case my account got frozen at an inopportune time. I would open a Co-op account and have my money paid in there and see how the Abbey account goes. Do you have direct debits coming from that account?

  • yes have the lot going in and out, think I will take advice and open co op, can you do it over the phone ?

You can do it over the phone. It took 2 days for me to receive my debit card in the post but that was last November, I think they are quite busy at the moment. Don't worry if you get a referral as some people do but they usually get their account in the end. Be sure you say its for a basic account.

  • ok will do, thanks for that i will let you know how i get on (will do it tomorrow)
