I've just updated the light fittings in my lounge, to a much nicer looking than the old one.
However the Halogen style bulbs that ( http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/product/1423/hp40f-mains-halogen-capsule-40w-g9-frosted/ ) example there. Are not very energy efficet... box said rating of G....
I'm struggling to find an energy saving alternative to this type of bulb? any suggestions?
Except for the obvious get a different light

Hi
As far as I'm aware they do not do these bulbs in a low energy type.
G9 bulbs are available in 25w version as well at 40w.
I had these in my old place and there was 4 40w G9 bulbs per light fitting with 2 fittings in the room so I was using 320w just to light up my living room.
Its the wrong type of fitting to be honest if you want to go down the low energy route.0 -
Have a look at this site, I believe these are suitable:

You may find the cheaper elsewhere, but they look like the right bulbs.0 -

I too have lots of halogen fittings, in the winter the electric bills are hideous and it is not due to the heating. I was looking at this:

does anyone have either of these types of bulbs and can tell me if they are worth purchasing please?0 -
