Altro flooring - Help please!

Hi all
I have had a disabled wet room fitted this year (still paying for it as we couldn't get a full grant!) and the problem I am having is keeping it clean! The Altro non-slip flooring has tiny little nodules on it and running a mop over it just doesn't clean it well enough we have discovered, even when using bleach.
We have only had the bathroom in use for two months and already have two stains on there from when my partner cut himself shaving and two drops of blood hit the floor. He didn't notice them til he next went to the bathroom and then got the mop out, but all it did was spread the blood into a rust coloured quite large stain. We have tried scrubbing but it seems to be there permenantly.
So does anyone else have this flooring? I have the palest one available of course which doesn't help, but our bathroom is so tiny we had to go with the light colour. I will put a link to the website in case anyone isn't sure if they have this in their bathrooms.

Any advice would really help.
Thank you all so much in advance.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

We have the Altro Marine flooring in the bathroom and the kitchen (duck egg blue in bathroom and white in kitchen) and cleaning it is a pain.
I vacuum them both and find that using the steam cleaner regularly does the trick. Got a portable 'penguin' one which is enough for most things. Also, just give it a quick wipe - as if to dry it - after showering/bathing.
Benefits of the flooring heavily outweigh the pain of cleaning it.0 -
Thank you Gers.
We try and scrape all the water into the shower drain before the final gurgle of the pump and then dry the rest off with an old towel, but it's just the stains that are bothering me. Though we are both now incredibly vigilent about ANYTHING falling onto the flooring!
I agree the non slip qualities are really good. Have to say my cat won't walk in the bathroom any more though, she really seems to hate the feeling of it under her paws and walks about two steps in and then reverses out looking annoyed...:rotfl:

I've been to look and the only 'stains' are the tea drips in the kitchen but they wash off easily. Sorry I can't be of more help, but do try steam cos it works really well here.

Have you been on their website and checked out their own recommendations?

if you clean it in accordance with their guidelines, then you can't possibly inadvertantly negate your guarantee.0 -
I have a dark grey altro floor and turn the shower on, get a soft yard brush , flash liquid cleaner and scrub the floor. It takes a while to dry with the window open and opposite door to get a through draught. My shower hose is quite long, which is useful to get into the corners. As a quilter, I'm used to spiking myself with a needle on occasion, and the best way to get blood out of fabrics is to use your own spit ! The enzymes help break down the blood.Gross, I know, but it works for cloth-not sure about altro floors. My cat doesn't mind my floor, but she's no sugar plum fairy ,as we have a gravel drive.I may invest in a steam cleaner now, having seen the posts above. :-)0

I have the same problem white speckled floor, so hard to clean, wish I'd have ordered a dark grey colour. I have bought proper Altro cleaning stuff, and its a waste of money, I find Flash very slightly diluted is best but still leaves stains, using a brush sounds a good idea will try that, but the difficulty cleaning is far outweighed by how wonderfully non slip it is, gives me confidence to shower unaided.0

I find the biggest problem with the altro in my bathroom is it always looks dusty, but it is black! I use the mop and zoflora on it, and occasionally give it a blast with the steam cleaner. I have the wood effect altro in my kitchen, its quite pale and its a PITA to keep looking clean, it gets a quick mop daily, but there are days whe I find myself on my knees scrubbing it. I use a very weak solution of whatever I am cleaning it with, OH was a floorlayer and used to go bananas at me using detergents on the floors!RIP Iain

any high alkaline cleaner will do but rinse it of very well, the best way is to scrub with a deck brush on smaller area's, if it dries dusty its because i has not been rinsed enough, carpet cleaning solution works well but mix it about 20-1 rather than 4-1 as most say0
