Moving house - tax back on wooden flooring?

Hi,
I'm due to move next month and have just purchased £800 of wooden flooring for the property. I have been told by a friend that I may be able to claim the vat back as the flooring is for a new build. Can anyone confirm/deny this and how one goes about getting the vat back is it is true.
