partners credit state

Hi

My partner currently has nearly £9000 worth of debt to various companies, nearly £6000 of that is car finance. He hasny paid anything towards these and has had no correspondence from anyone regarding them since 2006 Just looked at his credit report and seen that some of the things he owes are not on there, but they used to be.

does anyone know why this is and if this will eventually happen to everything on the file? Does your file get completely cleared in 6 years if you dont get any more credit? And will his credit score go back to as if he didnt have any credit at all? Or will he have to settle these because we have heard various rumours etc that the companies write them off if they cant get a hold of you?

Thanks for your help

From what you say it sounds like some accounts may be registered at a different previous address?

Have you got his credit record for all of the addresses he has lived at?
