:rotfl:I like that one :rotfl:0 -
LPG is great. It means I can run a Range Rover for the same cost as a much smaller car. I dont think the economy is down by anywhere near 20 %
( Though maybe it would be if I drove like Tom did in his video) Lol0 -
I've never driven with LPG, it was just what someone who did a conversion told me. Maybe it was 10%.Happy chappy0

We were talking about this when we saw some garages offering this on our travels this weekend.
DH, said, don't worry the Govt' will tax the hell out of it soon making it just as expensive. He has always driven diesels so is a bit peed off with fuel prices.;)0 -
The gov't cannot put more than 1p per litre until at least 2010. and also due to its CO2 emmisions it will find it difficult to incress tax on it by more than that after 2010 due to its commitments to the EEC on lowering CO2's0

NuLab can do what it likes when it comes to taxing us to death. Also, you can't use the channel tunnel if your vehicle has an LPG tank.0 -
I did all of the money saving tips to reduce fuel useage and saved money but I found the only real way was to convert my car to LPG.
I think that most people do not know much about lpg and what savings can be made. I converted both my cars and I am now running on Gas. The conversion came with a special lubricant pioneered in Australia called flash lube. This keeps the cylinder head valves lubricated and stops the valve seat recession. I'' let you know if I kill my engine! But the flash lube stuff should stop this.
In short I will pay back on the conversion in about 15-16 months ( I do about 450 miles a week to get to and from work. I am saving £95 per month using it ( that's vs money saving tips petrol saving tips ). It will really help my cash flow and help me get my savings account topped up. I wrote a blog about my conversion experience http://www.lpgguru.co.uk/ ( I thought lpg was neat so thought it would be cool to talk about it).
basically I get 1 tank of LPG 48 Litres of gas approx £25 will give me 310 miles this is on my 1.6 litre Toyota Corolla. This is at normal motorway speeds not at 55 / 65 MPH.0 -
People don't consider this because most have never heard of it!
I hadn't until today.
However, having read this forum - I suppose the jury's out still. But it is an interesting money saving idea. I found a website which does the initial conversion to the car, calculates what you would save and gives a list of suppliers in your area. It's worth thinking about I guess.0 -
I looked into this again recently as I saw one of my local stations was selling LPG.
What put me off was the price of getting the car converted. At around £1.5/2k its going to take me quite a long time to get that money back. Aside from the fact that I, and probably many others, just don’t have that kind of money to spend on this kind of thing at this time.
The Gov’t used to offer grants towards conversion, however for some reason they then stopped them in rather short order.
I had hoped the price of conversion had gone down, however it’s still quite high.0 -
Okay!
First a bloke with 3 posts to his name came and started a discussion. Then a bloke with 6 posts adds an affiliate website link to his post....
Anyone find that suspect?...
Thread reported.
Indeed!
With both of those posters mentioning 'flash lube', and all dave's posts being about LPG :rotfl:0
