Can I freeze berries?

Just stocked up on strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and black berries. Just wondered if I chopped the tops off the strawberries could I throw them all in a box and freeze them? OH has salad for work and also a box of mixed fruit and loves berries in it but struggling to stop them turning funny within a day or 2. Hoping I can freeze them then grab a handful and put in with the fruit so that they are defrosted by the time he needs to eat them
Help please

You can freeze berries, but they do tend to go a bit squishy when they thaw - strawberries are especially bad for this. Frozen berries are best used in cooking or somoothies, that kind of thing, as the texture won't be the same as fresh. Best way to freeze them is to do them loose in a roasting tin or something first, if you just put them in a tub all together they'll stick in a massive lump and will be no good for lunchboxes lol

I recently got a load of raspberries and blueberries cheap, which I open froze on a baking tray before putting them loose into a freezer bag. They thaw fine (although TBH I tend to throw them in muffins straight from frozen) But if frozen in a tub they clump together

have heard strawberries go mushy when thawed.0 -
Thankyou for the replies, they are now all in a single layer on a baking tray in the freezer, I will rebag them once frozen. Really appreciate the help.
