yorkgate cinema - what's their best screen?

I know yorkgate isn't a favourite with everyone, due to its sometimes dubious clientele... but i want to go and see harry potter next friday and warner village have p**sed me off for the last time. their online booking is a joke and so's the parking. i only used go for an extra special treat but i will not bother them with my custom this time.
besides, this site is all about moneysaving and with having to pay for parking at warner village (and in the event, despite paying it's proven to be no safer to leave your car there than at yorkgate) and the extortionate price to see a film there, not to mention the obscene prices for snacks (i know i should bring my own... but it's all in the *experience* ...yorkgate is miles cheaper.
i normally go to carrickfungus (i know, i know...) but the sound quality is not great and i want a nice big screen with good quality surround sound.
so... to summarise... i have a choice of cinema 3 or cinema 8 in yorkgate. i can't remember which is "nicer". if i phone up, all they are going to say is "all our screens have excellent facilities, miss tope". can anyone enlighten me?

Some screens are tiny in Yorkgate but I'm afraid I don't know which.
When I lived in Belfast last year I always preferred the Movie House on the Dublin Road for various reasons. Used it many times and always had great service. Plus they have a deal with the multistorey carpark near them where you can park there for free if you use the cinema.
Also check out pigsback.com for money off vouchers for Dublin Rd or Yorkgate cinemas.0 -
thanks NDK49 - i have never liked Dublin Road cinema for some reason... i guess it used to be because it didn't have particularly comfortable chairs, but it has now been all done up and is very swish. i may reconsider, especially as i am going out to dinner before hand. it might be handy... Oh i remember another reason why i didn't used to like them... you always have to queue in the rain/freezing cold when it's busy!
I *always* use my pigsback vouchers when i go to movie house cinemas (since long before i discovered this site!)0 -
The reason I like the Movie House and hate the Lisburn Omniplex is because of the chairs. The Omniplex is so uncomfortable I get a sore back sitting for a couple of hours.0

The dublin road MH has been renovated and has new chairs in almost all its screens. I've been going there for about 6 years (since it was a virgin cinema!) and wouldnt go anywhere else! besides it has a £2.50 tuesday and the best pop corn there is!:santa2:0

nah, carrick makes their own popcorn fresh, it doesn't have use the ready made bagged stuff and it's WAAAY nicer. the movie house does have the nicest nachos though! (but carrick is also £2 on a tuesday...)JoseChungsDoomsday wrote:besides it has a £2.50 tuesday and the best pop corn there is!
