Our DD had a "bottom drawer", although it wasn't planned! A few years ago, one of my friends had been given a couple of huge boxes full of stuff: china, glassware & ornaments, for her to do what she wanted with.
Apparently it had come from a fairly well-off lady who was going through a rather acrimonious divorce, & she wanted to get rid of anything that reminded her of her ex. There was a good dinner service, & sets of lead crystal glasses, vases & ornaments, including two of the swarovksi crystal miniatures. My friend needed a dinner service & some glasses, then she passed the box on to me, and there were a couple of things that I wanted, but most of the rest went to my DD: she has some lovely lead crystal glasses, & now collects swarovski crystal miniatures. All this was while she was still at school, so the box with her things was put away on top of the wardrobe and she took it when she moved out.0
