Flat bed lorry outside house...

hi i've been dropped home by my father in law after a wedding and a lorry that can recover vehicles parked up on our road at the same time. i called my other half whose at a mates and told him not to bring car back judt in case they're after us. luckyly he's inebriated so will be getting a cab back...they stayed for about 10 mins and i did a lot of curtain twitching and looking at them from my front door, so i'm either being paranoid, or they've come to collect a speeding fine debt my other half has.

Bailiffs working on a saturday night, how f-ing sad is that???

If this was a bailiff then he would be enforcing either an unpaid parking ticket or as you have said, an unpaid fine. Very unlikely to be anything else.

If this relates to bailiff action for an unpaid fine then the bailiff does have what is called a "clamping order".

However BEFORE this could happen, letters should have been received. Do you know whether your husband has received any letters?

These lorries are also used for re-possessing a car etc so it is possible that a neighbour may have fallen into arreas etc.
