Remortgaging while posted overseas?

Hi all,
I would appreciate some help on whether I will be able to remortgage on a residential deal. I am posted overseas working for the UK government, meaning that I pay income tax etc. on my full salary. I will be overseas for another two years.
My current deal is with the Halifax and expires in December of this year. I was given Consent to Let from them and my rate has not changed. Is another lender likely to give me a residential deal, given that I do not pay for my accommodation abroad and have not moved elsewhere in the UK?
If I need a Buy to Let, will I be able to get one on a salary of £30000, valuation of around £125000, balance owing around £105000? Or am I stuck on the best deal Halifax will give me?
Many thanks,
Sarah

Sounds like a similar scenario for someone I know who worked abroad in the Foreign & Commenwealth Office
There will be lenders that could look at this for you on a residential basis - however you will need to see if what these other lenders can offer will be better than what Halifax can offer
These scenarios can be a little more tricky, but your best bet would be to discuss with a whole of market adviser, with your whole scenario and I'm sure you will be able to find something
Although, you'll need to find an internet/phone based adviser seeing as you are abroad - where are you posted?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Many thanks for your reply. It's good to know there are lenders who will consider a residential deal and I will try a broker. I am based in Germany and come back about once a month but not usually to suit my convenience, so sometimes I can see people and sometimes not.Feb GC - £100 / ~£800
