Hi
A friend has recently come across an offer from a company who provide low cost mobile calls (via a gateway, as far as I can see) to businesses. They pay individuals for 'sourcing contract sim cards'. I think you take out some contracts, and then they pay you per sim, monthly, and they use the free calls available on the sims/contract to sell on to their clients
The payment amount is quite high, for essentially doing nothing (although it's not clear if you have to pay for the original contracts or not, and I suppose this would differ by provider).
Can it be legitimate? Has anyone come across anything similar? Have searched the web to no avail

Surely if their taking out all these contracts, it will seriously affect their credit rating and then they wont manage to get anymore on contract because they will get refused. Pointless!!!!!0

Hi belisama,
I think the 'no such thing as a free lunch' assumption would be appropriate to start out with here.
I imagine a few risks to the person taking out the contracts - e.g. being bound by a term contract which you might cease being compensated for by this company, also if they can access a sim card under your name, somehow a large debt could be produced which you'd be liable for - if you didn't pay it, the telco would pursue you.
Unless this company could provide iron clad guarantees, I'd steer clear of this offer.0 -
Thanks - as dodgy as it sounds, probably0
