Warning: don't cook "tater toasties" in toaster!

I recently bought some potato waffles called Tater Toasties from Farmfoods, and according to the cooking instructions, they may be cooked in a toaster as well as by conventional methods. I foolishly tried this. My toaster toasts bread, crumpets etc. fine, but when I tried using it for these waffles, one corner of each remained uncooked while the opposite corner burned. And I don't mean overcooked a bit - I mean smouldering red, setting off the smoke alarm and having to be extinguished before putting them in the bin!
They are very nice patato waffles when oven cooked, and imo excellent vfm at £1.25 for 2 packs (BOGOF) in Farmfoods, but I strongly advise against putting them in your toaster.

I don't know about tater toasties, but I cook Birds Eye or supermaket own potato waffles in teh toaster all the time with no problems...
