  • hi rog,

i have never had this situation myself so i can't be 100% sure! however a friend of mine has recently split up with their partner and wanted his name to be taken off the mortgage and her name off their loan ( the loan was for his car). i think there was quite a lot of hassle, but they both had to write to mortgage and loan company confirming the arrangements. I think it also took a couple of months to get sorted. will your ex agree to this?

With the mortgage it won't be that easy as they need to be sure you can afford the mortgage on your own
