Pay Day Loans - A right mess.

I stupidly, in desperation took out one of these pay day loans and the charges spun out of control on this month after month.
Now what happens is they have my bank card number and on my pay day, they debit £689.00 from my account, I have to go to the shop and get the money back which is £600.00 therefore me resulting in paying a £89.00 fee per month.
I need to stop this from happening, so I can arrange smaller payments to pay this company back after speaking to CCCS. Do I stop my bank card and cheque book and send them a letter? I really don't know what to do here and all the help from CCCS seems to be on-line?
Any help here about what to do?
Thanks everyone.x

Hi BallerinaGirl
CCCS's number is 0800 138 1111 to make an appointment - they're open til 8.00, I just checked! First thing you need to do is open a basic bank account with a bank you owe nothing to. Be careful about this as even if you have a credit card rather than a loan or overdraft, you could end up in a bad situation. Close your existing account if you can and get your income paid into your new account as soon as possible to protect it while you sort yourself out with CCCS. Oo, also, if you do go online with CCCS, you can still ring and speak to someone if you get stuck - just checked that out on their website, too.
Let us know how you get on.

Hello,
Just a quick one. You are more than welcome to have a telephone app. If you would like to speak to a counsellor please call 0800 138 1111

Go to the cashmachine, take out however much money you will think you need until a new card comes (7-10 days possibly) then cancel your card with your bank. The Payday loan people canot then take the full amount (or any amount) and you can negotiate with them yourselves or through CCCS a way of paying back the amount you owe in payments that you can afford to pay each week/month.
Having been in this situation I know this is the only thing that will work they may threaten you with further action but stick to your guns, tell them you are dealing with CCCS or whoever and that you just cant afford to pay back the full amount and they will have no choice but to back down.
Trust me, I've been there with 3 different payday companies all at the same time and this worked for me but please get in touch with CCCS/Payplan who can help you sort out a longer term plan for your debts.
All the best0
