Free Classical Music MP3s

Did a search but couldn't see this posted....

Saw an article in today's Times about a website - https://www.karadar.com - where they have placed >10,000 classical music pieces online to download free as MP3s. Hope this helps someone.

Takes a little effort.

I was redirected to another site (http://cocoa.itc.it:8080/cocoakaradar), registered, created a download list (and then labelled it), answered a classical music question (?!), and then appeared to be taken to a page where I can download the files (Rachmaninov piano concertos 2&3). This page took a fair while to load. I'm now downloading the first file, but this will take an age at 2KB/sec - this file is over 5MB, and it's the smallest of the six.

Criticism - there are two versions of concerto 3 available, but no details about either, other than the length. I wouldn't mind knowing who's playing....

All in all, this looks like an amazing service, but I really hope the download speed improves by at least a factor of ten, ideally a hundred.

Oh... looks like my download's stalled at 378KB. Not good. I *will* try again later though, it looks like it's worth it.

mmm..... Beautiful beautiful music. Background hiss, but I imagine that's from the original source.
